Week one
:
Introduction:
I am Ali, one of the teachers at www.study.com and I will be co-moderating with Teacher Dave at the kick-off andduring Week One. Thanks teacher Dave for throwing us at the deep end ;-)). I am looking forward to using thisopportunity with you all to explore online teaching/learning and to explore the Internet for content material to integrate into our e-lessons, and also to experiment with techniques for enhancing our teaching. From this session , I hope to learn how to use video in the classroom, and also to learn how to encourage students to create their own videos.
Currently I am an EFL instructor and Trainer at IIHEM (the International Institute for Higher Education) and previous to that I
worked as an EFL trainer at the Ecole Normale Supérieure, in Rabat from 1986 to 2005. I have also been teaching at www.study.com for a couple of years (Any records Dave?). My training (now 'obsolete' , I hasten to add) has been in language and applied linguistics, and my ICT training has been very patchy and too amateurish, I must admit. My nterest is more in the pedagogy of the Internet, or webaggogy as some would prefer to call it. I am not a computer "techie" in any sense, although most of my technophobe colleagues tend to come to me quite often for all sorts of tips and tricks ;-))
Thanks you all for offering us this opportunity.
